Specialist Alternative Provision – Day School

Mrs Julia Low (sen@thetutorialfoundation.co.uk), Head-teacher, is the member of staff who deals with queries from parents and members of the public.

I would like to introduce you to The Tutorial Foundation, a private pupil referral unit in Bromley which provides an educational setting for Key Stage 1 – Year 13 pupils. Established in 2005, we have a proven track record in delivering both educational and pastoral support to both mainstream and SEN students, especially those with challenging behaviour.  We regularly accommodate children from, for example, Bromley, Bexley and Lewisham schools.

Our excellent teaching and nurturing environment ensures that our students reach their full potential by gaining qualifications in Years 11, 12 and 13.
We have the experience and facilities to accommodate children with special educational needs, particularly those with Asperger Syndrome. We provide tutoring in one to one or small groups which caters for the needs of the individual child.
We offer full-time, part-time or respite provision, available between one to five days a week, Monday to Friday throughout the school term.
Extra-curricular activities include Duke of Edinburgh Award; Comic Relief Bake-Off and Kent Community Cricket.
If you have any pupils whom you think would benefit from our services, I would be happy to have the opportunity to discuss this with you.  Please do not hesitate to contact me to arrange a meeting or to request additional information.

Dec 2017:  Ofsted Inspection Dec 12th-14th 2017 confirms that The Tutorial Foundation is “A Good School”:

We are proud to announce The Tutorial Foundation has been classified as “Good” in all categories of the recent Ofsted Inspection.  The most pleasing outcome is the positive feedback received in the report as below:  (copy of the full report is available on our web-site, link below)

  • Parents and placing authorities are positive about the school. They emphasise the bespoke nature of the provision; staff at the Tutorial Foundation are flexible and work with pupils where no other provision has been successful. One parent summed up the views of others, stating that ‘staff are amazing, professional, understanding, efficient and always helpful’.

Item Nov 2017:

The Tutorial Foundation is taking part in the Healthy Schools Award programme to actively promote the health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff by ensuring our pupils can be physically active during school and by improving their access to healthy food and drinks. School Fire Risk Assessment Review

In light of the recent and horrific Grenfell tower fire in London, all schools have been asked to review their fire risk assessments and report to parents. As you would expect, The Tutorial Foundation had already done this as part of our standard operating procedures.

We would like to confirm that there is no Aluminium Composite Material or other cladding at School.
